From trail design to the visitor’s phone: promoting destinations through Outdooractive

Wild Guanabana works from A to Z: from designing the trail network to promoting it and managing visitors. As the exclusive Outdooractive reseller in the Middle East, we make sure finished trails are found, trusted and walked.

Key points

  • Wild Guanabana is the exclusive Outdooractive reseller in the Middle East.
  • Outdooractive is the only platform that connects destinations and millions of outdoor users in one place.
  • We build white-label trail websites and apps, publish official trail content, manage trails, provide usage statistics and use AI to help visitors find trails and points of interest.
  • One team covers the whole journey: plan, scout, audit, build, launch, promote and manage.

Opening day is not the end of a trail project. A finished trail still has to be found, understood and walked safely, season after season. Too often the team that plans the trails hands over a stack of reports, and the destination is left to work out the digital side alone. Wild Guanabana works differently. We work from A to Z: from the design of the trail network to its promotion and the management of its visitors.

Why Outdooractive

Outdooractive is one of the world’s leading platforms for outdoor tourism, with more than 17 million community members and millions more visitors who use it to discover, plan and navigate hikes, rides and other outdoor routes on the web, in apps and on smartwatches. Wild Guanabana is its exclusive reseller in the Middle East. That gives the destinations we work with direct access to an international audience that is already looking for its next trail.

What we deliver

  • Trail websites and white-label apps: the destination’s own branded trail website and app, built on Outdooractive, with interactive maps, trail pages, downloads and navigation.
  • Official content: trails, points of interest and stories published as official content, so visitors see the destination’s own verified information.
  • Trail management: one place to keep routes, closures, conditions and points of interest up to date across the website, the app and partner platforms.
  • Usage statistics: regular reports on how visitors find and use the trails, which helps destinations plan, invest and report with real data.
  • AI-assisted discovery: we use AI to help visitors find the trails, points of interest and experiences that match their time, fitness and interests.

The data starts in the field

The advantage of doing it all is continuity. The alignments, grades, photos and points of interest we record while scouting and auditing become the trail pages visitors read. The difficulty a visitor sees online is the difficulty our auditors measured on the ground. The narratives we research become the stories along the route. Nothing is lost or reinvented between the consultant, the builder and the marketing agency.

Managing visitors, not just attracting them

Promotion and visitor management go together. In desert landscapes, conditions change: a wadi can flood, a section can close for repairs, a trail can be too hot in summer. With trail management tools and usage statistics, a destination can steer visitors to the right trails at the right time, warn them about closures and see where investment is needed next.
