This policy explains what personal data Wild Guanabana Trails collects through this website (wildguanabanatrails.com), why we collect it, how we look after it and what rights you have. We keep it short and plain: we collect as little as we can, and we never sell your data.
1. Who we are
This website is run by Wild Guanabana Trails, the trail development arm of Wild Guanabana, working in Saudi Arabia and across the Middle East. We are responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at any time through our Contact page.
2. What we collect and why
When you send us an enquiry
Our “Start a project” form asks for your name, organisation, role, email address, phone number (optional), the destination or site you are working on, the stage and timeline of your project, and any message you choose to write.
We use this information only to reply to you, to understand your project and, if you wish, to prepare a proposal. We process it because you asked us to contact you and to take steps before a possible contract. We will not add you to a mailing list or send you marketing without asking first.
When you visit the website
We count visits so we can see which pages are useful and improve the site. We use Independent Analytics, which runs on our own website server. It does not use cookies, does not store your IP address and does not track you across other websites. Visits are recorded anonymously, as page views, referring websites, country, device and browser type.
Like every website, our hosting server keeps short technical logs (such as IP address, browser and time of the request) to keep the site secure and working. These logs are managed by our hosting provider and kept only for a limited period.
3. Spam protection: Google reCAPTCHA
To protect our contact form from spam and abuse, this website uses Google reCAPTCHA v3. reCAPTCHA checks whether a form is being sent by a person or by an automated program. To do this, Google collects information such as your IP address, browser and device details, and how you interact with the page, and may set cookies. This information is processed by Google under its own terms. This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
4. Cookies
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our analytics do not use cookies, and our fonts are served from our own server rather than from third parties. The only cookies you may receive are:
- cookies set by Google reCAPTCHA where the contact form is shown (see section 3);
- technical cookies set by WordPress for our own staff when they log in to manage the site. Visitors do not receive these.
5. Who receives your data
Your enquiry is sent by email to the Wild Guanabana Trails team, and a copy is kept in our website’s database so that no message is lost. We share personal data only with the service providers that help us run the website, and only as far as they need it:
- our hosting provider, Kappagram, which hosts the website and its database and keeps secure backups;
- Google, for reCAPTCHA spam protection;
- our email provider, which delivers and stores our emails.
We never sell or rent your personal data. Some of these providers may process data outside your country. Where that happens, we rely on their contractual and security commitments to protect it.
6. How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to handle your request and any follow-up. If no project follows, we delete them no later than 24 months after our last contact with you. If we start working together, we keep the information needed for the contract and for our legal and accounting obligations. Anonymous visit statistics may be kept for longer, as they cannot identify you.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, data protection laws such as Saudi Arabia’s Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) give you rights over your personal data. You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your data;
- stop or limit how we use it, or object to its use;
- withdraw any consent you have given, at any time.
To use any of these rights, contact us through our Contact page. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country; in Saudi Arabia this is the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA).
8. Security
The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to the website’s administration and to enquiries is limited to our team, and the site is protected against spam and automated attacks. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
9. Children
This website is for professionals and organisations. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
10. Links to other websites
Our website links to other sites, such as LinkedIn, Outdooractive and wildguanabana.com. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your data.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our website or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
